A casual, “dessert evening” of ministry presentations and
fellowship, as well as an introduction to those new to the mission,
by all accounts WorldVenture’s June 22 public Community Event in
Denver was a smashing success.

WorldVenture’s Live in 3D public event check out their 3D

Held in conjunction with our annual missionary Renewal Conference
(RC) week,
WorldVenture Live in 3D: Discover Your Calling,
Develop Your Gifts, Declare the Gospel, was attended by nearly
400 people, including WorldVenture board members, staff,
missionaries, alumni and guests. The program started off with a
bang as WorldVenture missionaries Ken and Bola Taylor quickly had
the audience on its feet, clapping and singing along with several
black gospel music favorites, including
Amazing Grace, sung
by their Hallelujah Gospel Family choirs in Japan. This creative,
and some might say “unlikely,” outreach the Taylors are using to
reach the Japanese people has grown to over 40 such choral groups
with 700-plus participants—80% of whom are “not yet Christians.”
Ken and Bola were here to be acknowledged as the 2010 recipients of
The Mission Exchange’s prestigious Innovation
in Ministry
award at the RC’s Recognition Luncheon—the first WorldVenture
missionaries to be so honored. The event also featured missionary
interviews with Hans Finzel, a challenging missions message from
Dr. Mark Young, president of Denver Seminary, worship music, video
presentations and 3D glasses, which the audience gladly dawned for
a group photo (shown above).
Afterwards, guests were invited to have coffee and sample
international desserts as they mingled with each other and browsed
the numerous ministry booths lining the room. Exceeding all
expectations, Hans declared it “a huge success.” We thank the Lord
for so richly blessing this effort, and are trusting to see the
fruit of relationships formed and lives touched by it in the days
ahead.
