This is a fresco-like painting on the exterior of a monastery in the north-east area of Romania, a place famous for monasteries/churches like these. They're called the "painted monasteries" because inside and outside, they are covered with these icons. They date from around 1450, and this is an example of one such painting on the exterior of the church building. Pretty well preserved for being almost 600 years old!
