From Boston to Ferke: short-term interns, 2010

Three seniors from Lexington Christian Academy, MA, chose to do their final 3-week internship in Ferke. (The link was Ariane, our daughter, who works in admissions at LCA). Paul and Alicia shadowed hospital personnel; Megan helped in the translation office (drawing illustrations for our 2011 calendar). And the 3 ran an English Club. Great experience all around!

These three LCA seniors just took off for home last Saturday. While they were here they contributed a lot -- through a great English Club, shorting sheets at the hospital, drawing illustrations for our 2011 Nyarafolo calendar. Paul, from Korea, also took balaphone lessons and developed friendships with young men. Megan and Alicia dealt courageously with scorpions in their bedroom at their host family home, and spent lots of time playing with the young children there. We've never had such young interns before. It was an intense time, but very good!
