On January 5th the retiring 77 year old Czech Cardinal Miloslav Vlk made an eye-opening statement about Europe's religious future, according to a Hungarian news report on www.hirado.hu. For an English report about his statement see this link,
http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/cardinal_vlk_warns_of_islami...

He said bluntly that Europe "has denied its Christian roots" and left a vacuum. Islam did not succeed to conquer Europe with military power at the end of the Middle Ages, and as this new age begins Europe is not dealing with the "spiritual weapons" of the struggle according to the Czech Catholic leader as he prepares to pass the baton to his successor. "Today, when the fighting is done with spiritual weapons which Europe lacks while Muslims are perfectly armed, the fall of Europe is looming.” Then he referred to the great immigration and large families of the Muslims populating European cities and schools.

Aside from the cardinal's statement, most European countries are suffering from a decline of the family and low birthrates signaling a decreasing European race to be outnumbered by growing immigrant families. Some European Christians believe that islamization may well be God's judgment on a Christ-denying continent. How long can we neglect biological and spiritual church growth and still have the opportunity to preach the Gospel in Europe?

The decline of birthrate in a most Western countries is a silent threat that I've only heard a few people talking about.
