Celebration in Tordas
On the first Sunday in October we went back to the church we formerly served in the town of Tordas where they held their congregational “Thanksgiving Day.” Keith was invited to be the guest speaker. It was a joy to see this group of close-knit believers all working together to make their church work and glorify the Lord. The children and teens led the music with handbells, piano, guitar, and flute. In fact the teens always lead the greater part of the music since they are the most gifted instrumentalists. Young children recited verses about God’s goodness and others gave testimonies about what God had done in their lives. The Tordas teens continued Beverly’s new tradition of decorating the sanctuary with a Fall harvest look that far exceeded our expertise. Reading from Deuteronomy chapter six, Keith reminded them that as God’s people we must look back to the past when God redeemed us from our hopeless bondage, and that now we must prepare to reach the present and future generations.

Visas Still in Progress
Please continue to pray as we gather papers and prepare to file for our visa renewal-- a process that makes all foreigners shudder even when doing it legally. We hope to hand
in our papers by the end of October or early November. Pray that we can obtain a 4-5 year visa permit.

Great Teaching Opportunities
At the International Christian School of Budapest Keith has the opportunity to teach Bible courses to 35 international students. In one class there are six Chinese, one German, one Hungarian, and two from an unnamed country where new Christians are persecuted. In another class he speaks in Hungarian and English to communicate with the students. Some of the students are believers, others are not. Pray that he can make the Gospel truth plain and simple as well as deep and profound so that all may become devoted followers of Christ.

Beverly continues to faithfully teach the women and children at our small fellowship of believers while Keith takes turns teaching the mixed group. She enjoys preparing creative lessons for the kids as well as encouraging other women to learn from the Bible.

Pray for a Country in Crisis
Continue to pray for Hungary as the nation deals with the internationally publicized toxic sludge deluge which destroyed some villages and killed at least eight people. Living far away in Budapest we are safe from this tragedy, but our hearts go out for those who lost their relatives, their homes, their jobs, all their belongings, and their land. The only consolation is that it occurred during the day instead of at night when many more could have died in their sleep.
